A wild crosser from Bergeijk ran into the lamp earlier this week at De Pan, a hamlet near Hapert. The special investigating officer (boa) of Staatsbosbeheer reacts furiously to his action: “If you drive our forest sections to the bone, it turns out that you cannot handle your crosser, you will crash into the ditch.”
The 52-year-old man can expect a fine and an invoice from Staatsbosbeheer Brabant to repair the damage. According to the boa, it may cost the cross pirate 1000 euros. There is also a chance that he will be punished by the municipality because he was active in a quiet area.
The crosser from Bergeijk was part of a group of about eight crossers, who, according to Staatsbosbeheer, abandoned him when the boas arrived.
The violation was detected by a surveillance team. Staatsbosbeheer speaks of a success and announces that the controls will be continued and even increased.
