02.15 – Car burns out in parking lot in Asten
A car caught fire in the night from Thursday to Friday at the Elfenbank in Asten. A local resident discovered the fire and alerted the fire brigade around two o’clock. When they arrived, flames were shooting out of the hood. The car had been parked in that spot for a while and was completely destroyed by the fire.
No one was injured in the fire. Arson is suspected, according to a 112 correspondent.
23.08 – Several roadside fires along highways
The fire brigade was on Thursday evening with several burning tires along the highways. Among others at De Kattenberg in Oirschot, along the A58. The right lane of the A58 towards Eindhoven was closed due to the smoke. The fire brigade extinguished the fire.
Tractor tires were also on fire along the Bestseweg in Liempde. The smoke moved over the A2 highway, which hindered traffic. The fire brigade extinguished the flames.
The tires were deliberately set on fire, the police are asking anyone who has seen anything suspicious to come forward.
