The police arrested a 37-year-old man from Breda on Monday afternoon in Tilburg, who had stolen a catalytic converter just before. A witness saw the man lying under a car on Kwaadeindstraat, where he was sawing. Catalytic converters are regularly stolen from under cars because they contain expensive metals.
Officers eventually saw the man driving on the Veldhovenring and stopped traffic. The thief attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended after a short chase. During his flight, he threw the catalytic converter on the roof of a garage. The part was also recovered a short time later.
