A fire broke out in the forest in Vlijmen. It concerns a fire in an area of fifty by one hundred meters, close to the Vliedberg industrial park. The bike path nearby is closed. The fire brigade fights the flames with fire whips, large fly swatters with which they knock out the fire.
One person has been arrested for arson, the perpetrator turned himself in to the police. It concerns a group of teenagers, one of whom started playing with a lighter. That went wrong. The fire hit the lighter, after which an 18-year-old woman wanted to help a friend who had the lighter. She took the lighter and threw it away. The fire spread quickly through the dry leaves, after which the woman called the fire brigade.
