Four traders have been fined for selling stuffed protected animals and protected animals in spirits at a curio market in Brabant. However, they could not prove that they had bought those animals legally. The Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) is drawing up an official report against the four traders. It is not mentioned where exactly the curio market was in Brabant.

NVWA inspectors seized a total of 12 animals and objects, such as a stuffed tawny owl, sparrow hawk, cobra and an Ambonese box turtle. The same applied to a number of protected animals in formaldehyde, such as a python.
