112 news: cars collide on A2 • police and farmer lend a hand to cattle

A man (29) and a woman (26) from Sint Willebrord were arrested yesterday at the end of the afternoon in their place of residence for the threat with a firearm and the assault of a man and a woman in Hoeven. This happened near a shop on the Garden of Gerlagh. In the car in which the two fled, the police found two fake firearms.

Things start when the later arrested woman tries to leave the store and employees try to stop her because they suspect she has stolen something. However, the woman runs away, gets into a car and takes off. A witness who is calling outside sees this happen. She cycles away with her groceries, but is attacked by the alleged shoplifter a little further on. According to the police, he grabs the witness by the neck and shouts why she filmed her. The stunned witness says she was not filming at all, but that she has her boyfriend on the phone.

From that moment on things get out of hand. The friend of the woman who wanted to cycle away comes along in an attempt to relieve his girlfriend. But an acquaintance of the alleged shoplifter also threatens to approach with a firearm. Eventually, the two suspects get into a car and drive off. The bewildered couple stays behind and calls the police.

The police are able to track down the suspects via the license plate of the car in which the two fled. Agents talk them out of the car with a special procedure for firearms dangerous suspects and then arrest them. In the car, the police find two fake firearms and an axe. The two are suspected of threats, assault and possible theft.
