The driver of a delivery van was arrested on Saturday morning after a chase along the canal in Oirschot. Officers went after the man because they suspected he was driving under the influence. According to a local police officer, the driver ignored a stop sign and drove ‘like crazy’ via the Dijkpad towards Best. “He got stuck there and we were able to detain him.” A stolen bicycle was found in the delivery van. The officers suspect that the bicycle was stolen earlier in the evening in Oirschot. “This will be a thick official report: because of driving under influence of cocaine, theft and/or receiving of the bicycle, driving on a bicycle path, ignoring a stop sign and because he could not identify himself.”
