The police arrested a 34-year-old man from Eindhoven on Monday afternoon, who was driving around with stolen license plates on his car. When they wanted to check on the man, he ran off. A chase through Geldrop and Heeze followed, which ended on the Torenweg in Mierlo. On the way, the man caused damage in several places and threw things out of the car.
In the end, the Eindhoven resident got stuck. The officers fired several warning shots, because they took into account that the man may have a weapon with him. Eventually he was overpowered with the help of a taser. It later turned out that the man was also wanted because he had not complied with his suspension conditions.
