At camping De Paal on the Paaldreef in Bergeijk, a camper went up in flames around three o’clock last night. People in the camper woke up to some crackling. They immediately suspected a fire and were able to leave the camper in time. They have been checked by paramedics. The fire brigade quickly had the fire under control, but the camper could not be saved. A hot gas bottle was secured and cooled. Campers are at a good distance from each other on this campsite, so the fire could not spread.
