21.15 – Van hits trees and turns over, driver has no scratches
The driver of a van miraculously remained unharmed on Friday evening in a serious crash on the N269 between Tilburg and Hilvarenbeek, in which several trees were rammed. The car then rolled over and came to rest on its side against a tree. The engine block was twenty meters away on the roadside.

8:30 PM – Car hits cyclist and then crashes into tree
Four people were injured in a collision on Van Randwijklaan in Werkendam on Friday evening around seven o’clock. A teenager on a bicycle was hit by a car. The cyclist fell. The vehicle crashed into a tree after the collision. Three elderly passengers were injured.

Four ambulances arrived at the scene of the accident and took the victims to hospital. A recovery company towed the car away.

16.50 – Collision on the N640
Three cars collided on the N640 near Hoeven. Two people were injured. It is still unclear exactly how the accident could have happened. The police are investigating. Recently, the speed limit on the road was reduced from 80 to 50.

16.48 – Kilos of illegal fireworks
In a house on the Dr. Ensinkstraat in Halsteren, a ‘large batch of illegal fireworks’ was found on Friday. In total it was 17 kilos, including more than 200 Cobras. The house is located in the middle of a residential area.

The fireworks were in the house itself and in an adjacent shed to the house. No one has been arrested yet, police said, entering the house because of an “ongoing investigation.”

4:30 PM – Man drives around with drugs
A Tilburg citizen (27) was arrested on the N65 between Den Bosch and Tilburg as he was driving around with more than a thousand ecstasy pills and hundreds of bags of other drugs.

The man was arrested ten days ago, but the police only released the news on Friday. It is unclear exactly where the man was arrested.

14.42 – Warning for aggressive dog
People in Helmond are warned about an aggressive dog that ran away from Wethouder Ebbenlaan. It is a medium-sized black and white Akita. Do not approach the dog yourself, Burgernet warns.

2:35 PM – Power outage in Bergen op Zoom
Due to a power outage, 1701 Enexis customers in Bergen op Zoom are without power. Technicians are on their way to solve the problem.

14.23 – Accidents on A58
Two Lanes of the A58 from Breda to Tilburg were closed from two to three o’clock this afternoon at Tilburg Centrum-West after two accidents. The closure led to an eleven kilometer long traffic jam from Bavel around half past three in the afternoon, causing a delay of more than an hour. Traffic was guided over the hard shoulder towards Eindhoven.

14.18 – Motorist was under the influence of drugs
The motorist who overturned his car on the Midden-Brabantweg near Kaatsheuvel this morning was under the influence of drugs. The police announced this this afternoon. The police were alerted by another motorist, who had seen the driver weaving across the road. Things went wrong when the drunk driver hit a lamppost next to the road with his car. The driver was able to get out of the car himself. He had to surrender his driver’s license.

14.13 – Broken truck on A59
The right lane of the A59 from Den Bosch towards the Zonzeel junction was closed at Terheijden for half an hour this afternoon. There was a broken down truck there. The closure led to a traffic jam of three kilometers from Oosterhout around two o’clock in the afternoon.

13.41 – Feeling unwell on A16
The right lane of the A16 from Breda to Rotterdam was closed for some time this afternoon near Dordrecht after someone there became unwell. The closure led to an eleven kilometer long traffic jam from Zevenbergschen Hoek around half past one in the afternoon. Traffic can now flow through here again.

12.30 – Fatbiker receives a serious fine
A 17-year-old boy was arrested this morning in Eindhoven for riding an illegally modified fat bike with a throttle. This way he didn’t have to kick. Officers on the Boschdijk noticed this. The boy received a fine of 290 euros. “Next time it will be confiscated and the fine will be higher!”, the police warn.

12.26 – Drug dealers arrested
A 42-year-old motorist who drove a rental car through Eindhoven under the influence last night has been arrested. He caught the attention of officers because he drove an illogical route through the Vaartbroek district and transported someone twenty meters. When officers stopped the man, he turned out to have a large amount of money, coke, hashish, and a telephone with him. He was arrested for trafficking in soft and hard drugs and driving under the influence.

A 19-year-old Eindhoven resident was also arrested. Officers saw him make contact with the 42-year-old motorist earlier in the evening. The teenager also had a significant amount of coke and money on him as well as a number of firearm cartridges. He was then detained.

11.22 – Accident on A58 Bavel
The left lane of the A58 from Tilburg towards Breda was closed near Bavel around eleven o’clock after an accident. The closure led to nine kilometers of traffic jams from Tilburg Centrum-West around half past eleven, accounting for twenty minutes of delay. The closed lane was reopened at a quarter to eleven in the morning.

11.05 – Swan hit by car on Merwede Bridge
Rijkswaterstaat was called this morning because of an apparently hit swan that was lying on the right side of the Merwede Bridge near Sleeuwijk. Rijkswaterstaat went to see if they could do anything for the animal. The reporter fears not.

10.10 – Car on roof on Midden-Brabantweg
A car crashed this morning around ten o’clock on the Midden-Brabantweg, the N261, near Kaatsheuvel. The car ended up on its roof. It has not been announced whether anyone was injured. An ambulance was called. Blood was taken from the motorist because he was probably driving under the influence. The accident led to a four-kilometre-long traffic jam in front of De Efteling around half past ten, causing a half-hour delay. The traffic jam has disappeared since eleven o’clock.

09.14 – A2 near Batadorp open again
The A2 motorway from Eindhoven to Maastricht, which was closed early this morning at the Batadorp junction after an accident with a truck, was opened around nine o’clock in the morning. Both lanes will be closed again from nine o’clock on Friday evening to repair the guardrail, which was damaged in the accident.

08.47 – Light moped rider with a huge trading stock of drugs
A 23-year-old moped rider was caught this week while riding through Eindhoven with a large supply of drugs. Officers stopped the man because he was not wearing a helmet. When the man behaved nervously, the officers investigated further and discovered a trading stock of drugs ‘that the average coffee shop owner would be jealous of’. The man also appeared to have been arrested for possession of hard drugs and recent gun violence. He was then arrested.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the man had had contact with someone about semi- and automatic firearms. The person he spoke to about this was identified and also arrested. No firearms were found in the house of this 32-year-old man, in the Eckart neighborhood, but a significant amount of hard and soft drugs were found. Clearly intended for trade, according to the police.

08.42 – Busy in Oss due to closed railway crossings
This morning there was chaos during rush hour in the west of Oss, where at least three railway crossings suffered from disruptions for a while. As a result, traffic was held up at the barriers for a while. Several people ignored the closed railway crossings, the lights and bells and crossed anyway. The fault has been resolved since a quarter to nine in the morning.

08.15 – Power failure hinders train traffic
This morning, no trains ran for about an hour between Den Bosch and Nijmegen due to a power outage. The trains have been running according to schedule again since a quarter to nine in the morning.

08.14 – Robbery suspect brought to trial
A 22-year-old from Helmond will be brought before the examining magistrate today for his involvement in the armed robbery that took place at the end of November last year in the Koolhof district in Deurne. Then several robbers entered a house through the backyard. They abused the residents and made off with loot. De Helmonder was arrested last week.

07.00 – UPDATE: Main carriageway A2 remains closed throughout the morning rush hour
The main carriageway of the A2 from Eindhoven to Maastricht remains closed throughout the morning rush hour. Rijkswaterstaat reports this. An accident has happened near the Batadorp junction, a truck is against a guardrail. It is unclear what exactly happened and whether anyone was injured.

06.15 – Accident on A2
An accident involving a truck occurred on the A2 from Eindhoven to Maastricht near the Batadorp junction. Rijkswaterstaat has therefore closed the main road to traffic. For the time being, traffic runs parallel via the N2.

05.40 – Merwede Bridge work
This coming weekend, work will be done on the Merwedebrug (A27) towards Breda. One lane on the bridge will be closed from nine o’clock on Friday evening. Most traffic is diverted from the Everdingen junction via the A2 and A59.

17.25 – Police search for car after attack
A house on Scheldestraat in Breda was the target of an attack on Monday night. Someone threw something flammable, probably some kind of Molotov cocktail, inside around a quarter to four in the morning. Police say they are now looking for a small light-colored car, a hatchback, that was driving around the area at the time. That car is related to the attack. Anyone who knows more about the attack or car is asked to contact the police.

9:15 PM – Parked car catches fire
A parked car caught fire on Nijverheidsstraat in Uden. The car could no longer be saved and completely burned out.
