A man rammed a lamppost late last night on Joannes Zwijsenlaan in Oss after his car left the road. According to his female partner, who was in the car with him, the driver had had too much to drink. The accident happened around a quarter past eleven at the intersection with Paganinistraat. The driver, who drove a 220 HP Volkswagen Golf GTI, was injured; the woman was unharmed.
The man was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries. The police chased the ambulance. She is investigating whether the driver had indeed had too much to drink. The severely damaged car was removed by a recovery company. The municipality of Oss has been informed of the damage to the lamppost. After the collision, debris and glass from the car were scattered across the intersection. A passing nurse and a Roadside Assistance employee provided assistance.
