And he almost succeeded: in the 59th minute, Viktoria keeper Moritz Nicolas was just able to defuse Bünning’s header after a corner kick. Morgan Faßbender and René Guder had already failed within a few seconds at the goalkeeper (58th).
So while the goalkeepers of both teams were in top form, this was only partially the case for the offensive players. There were no further big chances until the final whistle. A circumstance with which the guests could live well, as they achieved their goal of staying up in the league by winning the point. Cologne, however, must continue to tremble.
