10 people died after taking suicide powder, seller in court

The court in Den Bosch will consider the case of Alex Schot this Monday. The 30-year-old Eindhoven resident is suspected of selling the suicide powder Drug X. According to the Public Prosecution Service (OM), ten people died after this.

Schot was arrested in July 2021. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the case came to light after several people died after taking the drug that the Eindhoven resident allegedly sold. Who he sold the drug to is not important, he simply delivered, says the OM.

According to the prosecutor, Schot had to pay for the medicines and lived on that money. Schot is said to have laundered 90,000 euros. According to his lawyer, his client does not recognize himself in that amount.

Anti-emetic agent
The Eindhoven resident is also accused of possessing and selling medicines without a permit. This includes, among other things, an antiemetic, which is necessary to be able to take Drug X. Because the suspect is not a doctor or pharmacist by profession, according to the judiciary, he has violated the Medicines Act.

During an earlier interim hearing in February, Schot said he was nervous about the outcome of his criminal case. “There is a lot of uncertainty, I don’t know what to expect.” Earlier he stated that he only wanted to help people.

Demonstrators
Around that session, Schot was supported by a group of demonstrators. She walked in a procession from the station to the court. On the way they shouted slogans like: “Master of your own death: now, now, now!” The Brave Citizens Support Group will also be heard this morning.
