The real name of the actor was Carlo Pedersoli. Colleague Terence Hill chose his actor’s name from a list of made-up names given to him by director Giuseppe Colizzi, but Pedersoli’s pseudonym is based on two things he appreciated: Budweiser beer and actor Spencer Tracy.
