According to media reports, this caused trouble for Christian Horner. “The new Mercedes violates the spirit of the regulations. For us, some parts are not legal,” the magazine “Auto Motor und Sport” quoted the Red Bull team boss on Thursday morning. A denial from the racing team followed promptly.

However, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff already reacted to the alleged Horner attack. “Half an hour after seeing the car for the first time, how does he know that our car is supposed to be illegal?” the Austrian wondered.
