The civil lawsuit between Gwyneth Paltrow and 76-year-old Terry Sanderson was decided yesterday (March 30) in favor of the actress. The subject was a skiing accident in Utah, USA, which occurred in 2016. The retired ophthalmologist then filed a lawsuit in 2019 and claimed damages.
As a result of the collision in the winter sports area in Deer Valley, the plaintiff stated broken ribs and a brain injury and demanded compensation. His legal representation stated, “$3.276 million for the 17 years that Terry will live with this permanent brain damage.” According to the attorney, this “permanent brain damage” would limit his client’s “golden years.” Paltrow’s representative, citing footage of the accident, replied: “He hit her. He hurt her. And then he just asks her three million dollars. That’s not fair.”
The 50-year-old responded to the lawsuit, demanding a token dollar in damages and reimbursement of attorneys’ fees. The eight jurors found Chris Martin’s mother of two and ex-wife right and ruled in her favour. Sanderson bears sole responsibility for the collision.

In a later hearing, the judge will decide whether he will ultimately have to pay for the Oscar winner’s legal fees.
