More than one in ten European households has invested in cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin. This is according to a study published by the European Central Bank (ECB) on Tuesday. The crypto market has experienced a spectacular decline in recent weeks. ECB President Christine Lagarde acknowledges that crypto is attractive to the population, but at the same time warns that these coins are worthless and do not offer a safe haven. The ECB’s estimate comes after research in six eurozone countries, including Belgium.
