Interim coach Jan Siewert has been strengthened by Dennis Lamby for his coaching staff at Bundesliga club FSV Mainz 05.
The 39-year-old is initially coming to the 05ers on loan from the Rhineland Football Association and will support Siewert as assistant coach together with Marc Heidenmann. The Rheinhessen announced this on Wednesday.
The previous U23 coach Siewert took over the Mainz professional team after Bo Svensson’s resignation and is expected to hold the position “until further notice”. Those responsible around sports director Christian Heidel want to decide “at their leisure” whether the 41-year-old will also become a permanent solution at Bruchweg.
Under Siewert, Mainz clinched their first win of the season against RB Leipzig (2-0) last Saturday.
