1. FC Saarbrücken against Dynamo Dresden will be repeated

The third division game on the 13th matchday between 1. FC Saarbrücken and Dynamo Dresden, which was canceled due to the pitch being unplayable, will be repeated. The sports court of the German Football Association (DFB) decided this on Friday.

Objections against the judgment can be lodged until Monday, 11:59 p.m. As soon as it is legally binding, a catch-up date should be found immediately.

“According to the findings of the sports court, neither team or club was at fault for the abandonment of the game,” the deputy chairman of the DFB sports court, Georg Schierholz, is quoted in the DFB statement. Therefore, according to the DFB legal and procedural rules, the game should be “replayed at the same location”.

The game last Sunday fell victim to the constant rain, which made the pitch in Saarbrücken’s Ludwigspark unplayable. Referee Arne Aarnink had initially whistled for the game, but after consultation with both teams, he decided to stop the game during the extended half-time break when the score was 0-0.
