Return to Switzerland
1. FC Magdeburg has terminated Luka Sliskovic’s contract, which originally ran until 2023. The 27-year-old Austrian came to FCM from FC Winterthur in the summer of 2020, for whom he played a total of 23 games. Injuries repeatedly threw the left winger back during his time in Magdeburg, last year Sliskovic only made four short appearances for the FCM pros.
“We wish Luka all the best for the future. Despite his difficult situation with us, he behaved impeccably and always professionally,” said sporting director Otmar Schork.
Update Sep 2 3:28pm: Two days after terminating his contract with FCM, Sliskovic found a new club. The attacker is returning to Switzerland and will play for the second division club FC Schaffhausen, where he is coached by ex-Bundesliga professional Hakan Yakin.
