1. FC Magdeburg extends with coach Titz:

“Logical consequence”

Second division team 1. FC Magdeburg has extended the contract with coach Christian Titz early. The club announced this on New Year’s Day without specifying the term of the new contract. The previous contract duration was also not known.

“The early, medium-term contract extension is a logical consequence of continuing the current, trusting cooperation with Christian Titz. The inner workings of the team with the coach and the coaching team are still intact and show no signs of wear. We are convinced that we can continue the continuous development with Christian,” said Managing Director Otmar Schork.

Titz has been working at FCM since February 2021 – only Christian Eichner (KSC) and Horst Steffen (SV Elversberg) have been in office longer in the second division. The Mannheim native, who previously coached Rot-Weiss Essen and HSV in the professional division, led Magdeburg from the third to the second division in 2022 and reached eleventh place there last season. The FCM is currently in 13th place at the winter break and is three points ahead of the relegation place. After 113 games in office, Titz has a points average of 1.7.
