Comes from Holstein Kiel
Second division club 1. FC Magdeburg remains active on the transfer market and have also signed Ahmet Arslan. The 29-year-old comes from Holstein Kiel, but was recently on loan at SG Dynamo Dresden. In the black and yellow Arslan became the best scorer in the 3rd division with 34 goals and also jumped to his personal best of 700,000 euros in terms of market value.
According to reports, Dresden had negotiated a purchase option in the amount of 250,000 euros and a follow-up contract with Arslan, but due to the missed promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga, the purchase option was not activated. Now there is a transfer fee of 400,000 euros, which Magdeburg will transfer to Kiel. Arslan is the first player at FCM after seven free commitments for which a fee is due.
“Ahmet brings enormous finishing quality and will enrich our offensive game. Most recently in Dresden he showed how valuable he can be. He now wants to prove that to us in the 2nd division,” said Magdeburg’s sporting director Otmar Schork. Coach Christian Titz added: “In Ahmet, we were able to gain an experienced, goal-scoring player who has just had a very good season.”
