Contracts expire
Future MLS club St. Louis City SC are in advanced talks to sign Tomas Ostrak from 1. FC Köln. Sources with direct knowledge of the situation confirmed this to Transfermarkt.us. The Czech junior international is free after his contract with the Bundesliga club expires in the summer. Accordingly, FC wanted to extend the attacking midfielder, but Ostrak preferred a move to the USA.
Ostrak, who moved from his home country to Cologne’s U17s in 2016, has attracted the interest of several German clubs. Most of the season he played in the second team in the Regionalliga West, but he also made five appearances (one assist) for the pros. The right footer has also made 24 appearances (two goals) for various Czech national youth teams.
In addition to 1. FC Köln’s Ostrak, St. Louis is also speaking to Arminia Bielefeld’s Nilsson
St. Louis City with coach Bradley Carnell and sports director Lutz Pfannenstiel will compete in the MLS from 2023, this year the franchise will send a team to the MLS Next Pro, in which the second representatives will appear. So far, the Missouri team has already signed the Bosnian Selmir Pidro (23) from FK Sarajevo. In addition, the “kicker” reported in mid-February on talks with Arminia Bielefeld’s central defender Joakim Nilsson (28) (to the news). This can Transfermarkt.us to confirm.
Both sides have a concrete interest in a transfer, but the negotiations are not yet complete. The offer from St. Louis isn’t the only one Nilsson has. The Swede is keen to defend his international status even after a move, but is aware that this could be his last major contract.
