1. FC Köln extended with Velcro

The soccer players from Bundesliga club 1. FC Köln have pushed ahead with personnel planning.

After Sharon Beck, Mandy Islacker and Myrthe Moorrees, Manon Klett has also extended her expiring contract with the Geißbock-Klub.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper will stay with the club until at least June 30, 2023. Klett moved from SC Sand to Cologne in the summer of 2020 and was promoted to the women’s Bundesliga in her first season with FC Frauen. With 20 points, the FC women are currently in eighth place in the Bundesliga and managed to stay up in the Bundesliga early on.

“The goalkeeper position is also an important component of our squad planning next season,” said Cologne coach Sascha Glass. “We want to position ourselves there as well as possible, which is why we are very happy that Manon has decided to extend his contract. She fits not only because of their sporting qualities, but also because of their outstanding character.”

Klett added: “We have developed well over the course of the season and have gotten used to the first division and the pace. I think that there will be a few more development steps in the coming season.”
