Only came in winter
Former Cologne Sava-Arangel Cestic is leaving HNK Rijeka after just half a season. The 21-year-old central defender only switched from “Effzeh” to the Croatian first division club in winter after his contract in the cathedral city was terminated. The same thing happened with the working paper in Rijeka, originally dated 2024, at the player’s request.
Cestic confirmed to Transfermarkt: “The time in Croatia was very instructive and an important experience for me. I found very good conditions at Rijeka, but overall I expected more. I’m happy and grateful that the club has complied with my wish to terminate my contract.”
After three appearances over 90 minutes at the beginning, the Serbia U21 international lost his place and was only called up twice in the rest of the season. For Cologne, the right-footed player made eleven appearances in the Bundesliga in 2020/21.
