Too heavy fog
1. FC Köln’s conference league game at 1. FC Slovacko fell victim to the weather conditions and should be continued on Friday. Dense fog prevented the game from being played on Thursday. Now things are getting tight in the Bundesliga too.
After changing the original kick-off time twice from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., the game had started, but was stopped again in the seventh minute when the score was 0-0. Because visibility remained severely restricted, referee Giorgi Kruashvili from Georgia blew the whistle early. A new attempt is to be started on Friday at 1 p.m. (CEST).
Due to the tight schedule before the World Cup in Qatar, there was no other choice when it came to rescheduling. As early as next week, the Cologne team (November 3) will be playing their preliminary round showdown at home against Nice. In the Bundesliga, FC is scheduled to meet Hoffenheim in Cologne on Sunday.
Cancellation. The game will continue tomorrow at 1 p.m. The game continues from the 7th minute.

Two other German clubs were recently affected by similar game transfers. Heavy rain prevented the game between Manchester City and Borussia Mönchengladbach from kicking off in September 2016. In 2001, Bayer Leverkusen’s game at Juventus Turin had to be canceled due to thick fog and was rescheduled for a week later. The fog was too heavy on this date as well, so the game was rescheduled for the following day.
