“Clear Confessions”
Marnon Busch (28), Jonas Föhrenbach (26) and Jan Schöppner (23) have signed new contracts with 1. FC Heidenheim. The trio, which is one of the seven most valuable professionals in the FCH squad, was previously only tied until the end of the season. Right-back Busch and left-back Föhrenbach are now to remain with the second division team until at least 2027, and midfielder Schöppner until 2025. “These are three clear commitments from three important top performers in our team, which we are particularly pleased about – especially at this early stage,” explained Managing Director Holger Sanwald.
“For years, ‘Buschi’ has been a very important cornerstone of our stable defense and at the same time a driving force in the game going forward. With his ambition and willingness to perform, he embodies the values of our FCH on and off the field in a special way,” said Sanwald about right-back Busch. He commented on Föhrenbach, who hasn’t missed a minute of a competitive game this season: “It gives us great pleasure to see his extremely positive development over the past few months. In the course of his time at FCH, ‘Föhre’ has earned his place as a regular on the left full-back position and delivers his performances at a consistently high level.” Meanwhile, Schöppner has “despite his young age and the fact that ‘Schöppi’ is out came to us from the regional league, quickly got used to the level of the second league,” says Sanwald, and bring the “required virtues” for the 2nd league with him.
