1. FC Cologne is using the upcoming international break to once again commit to the relegation battle in Spain. Coach Timo Schultz’s team will travel to Alicante province on March 18, three days after the Bundesliga duel against RB Leipzig.
The current table 16th. will train in Algorfa and move into quarters until March 23rd. Other clubs also decided to take a short trip to the south this winter: Bayern Munich flew to Portugal for four days in January, second division leaders FC St. Pauli are currently preparing for Sunday’s game against Eintracht Braunschweig in Mallorca.
