1. FC Cologne borrows Alidou from Eintracht Frankfurt: details and votes

“Makes sense for everyone involved”

1. FC Köln has made the transfer of Faride Alidou official. On Monday, the Bundesliga club confirmed the loan of the 22-year-old, who is coming from Eintracht Frankfurt for one season. According to reports, the “Effzeh” then has a purchase option, and the SGE in turn has a buyback clause.

“Faride has great potential. His strengths include speed, depth and the offensive one-on-one. Like every young player, however, Faride has areas for development in order to consistently reach a good level in the Bundesliga. We therefore gave him a clear plan of how we would like to work with him and what he has to bring to the table. There was a consensus of mutual expectations. We are therefore delighted that Faride is part of our team with immediate effect,” said sporting director Christian Keller.

Alidou was rarely able to show his talent at Frankfurt. The attacking player, who came from HSV on a free transfer in 2022, contributed a goal and an assist in 21 games last season. Nevertheless, Eintracht believes that the DFB junior can make a breakthrough in the long term. Loud “sports1“Cologne could sign Alidou for 3 to 4 million euros next summer, with a buyback option of 5 to 6 million euros.

“In his first season with us, Faride indicated the great potential he had. After good and constructive discussions with him, we came to the conclusion that a one-year loan to 1. FC Köln made sense for everyone involved. We wish Faride a good and injury-free season with many minutes of play,” said SBU sports director Timmo Hardung.
