1 euro per barrel of oil from NAM and Rijk for Schoonebeek

The exploration by De Gemeynt and Stelpstra looked at the size of oil extraction in Schoonebeek in relation to the possible contribution to the region. According to Vijlbrief, Stelpstra and De Gemeynt conclude that “a contribution of between 5 and 10 percent of the benefits of oil extraction can be seen as reasonable. When this is combined with the Social Cost Benefit Analysis (SCBA), this amounts to between 23 and 90 million, based on an 18-year extraction period starting in 2022.”

Vijlbrief continues: Stelpstra de Gemeynt suggest 10 percent as a contribution, looking at the intention recorded by the government in the contour memorandum and that the amount of the contribution must be substantial. They arrive at an amount between 45 and 90 million.”

Vijlbrief subsequently agreed with NAM that, as an oil extractor, it will account for 60 percent of every euro of every barrel of oil and the State will pay 40 percent through EBN. According to Vijlbief, what NAM has not been able to extract in oil since 2022 must be deducted proportionately from the area contribution.

“With an expected production and lifespan of 15 years, this amounts to a total amount of between 30 and 45 million euros. The final total amount depends on the actual duration in years and size in barrels of the extraction or the actual oil production,” Vijlletter wrote to the House of Representatives today.
