Riejanne Markus finished in seventh place today at the Strade Bianche Donne after a strong showing. The cyclist from the De Zwarte Kat neighborhood near Amstelveen was in a leading group that was only caught 21 kilometers from the finish line.
In the final kilometers it became a joust between the favorites. The overall victory went to Lotte Kopecky, who shook off the Italian Elisa Longo Borghini 500 meters from the finish. Markus finished just over a minute behind the Belgian winner.
