AFC remained unbeaten in the second division for fourteen games when competitor for the title Katwijk treated the team from Amsterdam to a defeat last week. Remarkably enough, the leader went down again this afternoon at sports park Goed Genoeg. Koninklijke HFC turned out to be too strong with 4-1. Gerry Vlak, Zakaria Eddachouri and Sietse Brandsma ensured a 3-0 lead for HFC within twenty minutes.
In the second half, AFC player Milan Hoek used a penalty kick, after which Eddachouri made his second of the afternoon. AFC was already playing with ten men because of a red card for Gevero Markiet.
Despite this second consecutive loss, AFC remains first. Pursuer HHC Hardenberg also went to visit IJsselmeervogels (1-0) and is three points behind. Katwijk will not play against De Treffers until 6 p.m. in Groesbeek and can reduce the gap to AFC to two points.
