Irene Schouten has qualified for the team pursuit at the World Cup distances with Joy Beune and Marijke Groenewoud. They defeated South Korea in the B group in a time of 2.53.42. That is faster than Canada’s winning time earlier in the day in the A group (2.54.07).
The Dutch skaters had to compete in the B group after they were disqualified from the previous World Cup team pursuit competition in Poland because Beune had not put on her transponders, which ensure timekeeping.

It was not enough for the third victory this season in the premier league. FC Utrecht repaired the damage after the break, leaving Telstar penultimate.
Despite a very quick opening goal from Niels Springer, Royal HFC lost 2-1 this afternoon at the leader in the second division, Spakenburg. The Haarlem team therefore remains in the middle of the table on 23 points.
AFC Amsterdam left no stone unturned by Kozak Boys. The team of coach Benno Nihom won no less than 5-0. Splinter de Mooij scored twice. At the Open Dutch Marathon Skating Championships in Austria, Daan Gelling from Groningen and Friezin Merel Bosma walked away with the gold. Gelling beat Chiel Smit and Ronald Haasjes on the Weissensee after 150 kilometers. Born Haarlemmner Jeroen Janissen finished eighth.
Bosma completed the 100 kilometer distance fastest among the women and crossed the finish line solo. Two minutes later, Elsemieke van Maaren took silver by winning the sprint of the pursuers. Ineke Dedden completed the podium. Beau Wagemaker from Hoogkarspel, winner of the Aart Koopmans Memorial on Thursday, finished in fourth place.
Ajax was stuck at a 0-0 draw during the last visit to Heracles Almelo. That was on October 30, 2021. It has not been really easy for the Amsterdammers on the artificial grass of Almelo in recent years. In 2017, 2019 and 2020, Ajax always lost by one goal. In 2021 they did win (0-2). Klaassen and Haller were the goalscorers at the time.
