The triathlon outfitter Zoot Sports is strengthening its sales. On Monday, the company, which belongs to the Italian sporting goods group MVC Group, announced the takeover of Tailwind Brands GmbH.

According to a statement, Tailwind Brands has been responsible for distributing Zoot’s products in Europe for more than a decade. During this time, the company helped “lay a solid foundation for strengthening the brand in the growing triathlon community,” MVC said in a statement.

With the takeover, MVC wants to further drive Zoot’s growth. “This strategic step offers a significant opportunity to further expand and strengthen Zoot’s presence in Europe, a fast-growing market with annual growth rates of seven to eight percent,” the group said. The aim is to triple the brand’s sales in Europe over the next three years.

According to the group, Marcus Voss, General Manager of Tailwind Brands, will continue to manage Zoot Europe’s day-to-day operations. Voss has “many years of experience in the endurance sports industry, including triathlon,” according to the statement. “His leadership will ensure continuity, strong relationships with customers and a smooth transition as Zoot expands its presence across the region.”
