Youp van ‘t Hek bashes Mona Keizer: ‘She is a Coffee Time politician!’

Youp van ‘t Hek has no confidence at all in Mona Keijzer, Caroline van der Plas’s prime ministerial candidate. He immediately thinks of Coffee Time when he thinks about her. “A little too blond and chatty!”

She was presented as a prime ministerial candidate by Caroline van der Plas, but the media no longer allowed her to be called that: Mona Keijzer. If BBB becomes the largest party in the country, it will become Mark Rutte’s successor. But according to critics, there is a good chance that the two ladies will have split up well before the elections.

Traces of regret

Youp thinks it won’t work out at all with that Mona. “I spend a lot of time this week on NRC column.

Mona and Caroline’s Op1 performance did not go well and according to columnist Johan Fretz, Caroline had already regretted it then of her prime ministerial candidate. And Youp shares that opinion: “There are clearly traces of regret.”

Coffee time

Youp saw everything in Caroline’s eyes at Op1. “This week she suddenly thought Mona was a bit too blonde and also a bit chatty. A Coffee Time politician.”

A bit like the Pernille La Lau of The Hague, Youp wants to say. “And Caroline clearly still has to get used to that full faction room,” he says, pointing to the arrival of Derk Jan Eppink, Nicki Pouw-Verweij and Lilian Helder. “Together they remind her a bit of the LPF scrap heap.”

Full of bruises

This isn’t going to happen, Youp thinks. And he has the idea that Caroline suddenly sees that too. “From: I have a room full of bruises.”

He concludes: “And that Mona who is coming? The only international experience this Volendam native has is that Nick & Simon have been abroad.”
