A young child was in a coma in the hospital after eating Haribo sweets that turned out to be cannabis. The Hospital Group Twente (ZGT) confirms this after reporting about this from Tubantia and RTV Oost.
The candy manufacturer from Breda announced last week that there are sweets in circulation that can lead to health problems. Shortly thereafter it was announced that there appeared to be cannabis in the sweets. And now it appears that it has also had serious consequences.
Two children were brought in at the hospital in Almelo. The child who was seriously ready has been transferred to another, more specialized hospital. “In the meantime, both children are doing well again,” says a spokeswoman.
“So it was more dangerous than people initially thought.”
The children are in the toddler and kindergarten age. The hospital does not want to spend any further details to protect the privacy of the family. “It was a bit laughing about it, but it was therefore more dangerous than people initially thought,” says the spokeswoman.

Haribo announces on Tuesday evening to be ‘relieved’ to hear that the children have been restored and make up for it. The candy manufacturer says he does everything to work on the research.
