Young Ajax is again gaining points from leader Willem II

Young Ajax cleverly took a point against Willem II. The team from Amsterdam fell behind early, but quickly fought their way alongside. The team of coach Dave Vos then held up well in the King Willem II Stadium and achieved a result against the leader in the first division for the second time this season.

Young Ajax returned to Tilburg in top form, as the team has been undefeated for eight games in a row. That strong series started on November 6 against Willem II (1-0 win). On the other hand, that was also the last defeat for Willem II, which proudly leads the first division.

Spectacular start

The Amsterdammers were dealt a blow quite quickly. Ringo Meerveld took the first chance for the home team. He put the 1-0 on the scoreboard within six minutes with a loud bang on a pass from Nick Doodeman. Jong Ajax seemed to be heading for a tough evening, but quickly got things in order. Jong Ajax’s first bet was also successful and Gabriel Misehouy put the equalizer on the scoreboard: 1-1.

It was great that Young Ajax could keep up with the leader’s game. In an attractive stadium, the Amsterdam team easily held their ground and stayed out of trouble. Although the best chances were for Willem II through Michael de Leeuw, Ringo Meerveld and Nick Doodeman, the tie remained on the scoreboard until the break.

After the break, Willem II was eagerly looking for the lead. Jeremy Bokila was particularly active. Although the home team increased the pressure, Jong Ajax held up well. The biggest chance was for Haarlemmer Jeredy Hilterman, who pushed the ball just wide of Jong Ajax goalkeeper Tom de Graaff’s goal ten minutes before the end.
