Yordi Swaluw (27) is a true internet legend. After he explained to reporter Bram Krikke in 2018 how to pronounce and spell his name, a video appeared on YouTube and he is embraced there as a true phenomenon. After being featured in the SBS6 program ‘Long live love’ last week, the same hype is alive and well again.

The fragment that made Yordi famous is actually incredibly simple. During a street interview for the YouTube series ‘Bram in the neighborhood’, Bram asks Krikke for the name of the red-haired boy. “Djordie,” says Yordi phonetically. Followed by the spelling of his name. “Good guess,” he says stoically.

Finally, the awkward conversation is cut short with a so-called phone call. “I’m coming now,” says Yordi. And walks away.

And there was one meme born. An internet joke that is very popular among young people. If that wasn’t enough, Yordi was in the spotlight again this week. This time it was not a street interview, but a participation in the SBS dating program ‘Long live love’.

Because of his performance in the program, Yordi is again in the spotlight of the internet enthusiast. Fragments of his participation are once again going like a spear on TikTok. This is noticeable when you take a tour of the market in his city of Breda. “Djordi!”, a group of students is grinning from a distance. “Good guess!” he replies.

Those are, of course, exactly the statements that made him known. So one after the other comes to score a photo. “You look good,” they say. “And you did well on your date.”

“I’m looking for a naughty lady who likes to party.”

But with Cora, to whom Yordi was coupled, it unfortunately didn’t work out. He did sing the song ‘Tequila’ by The Champs on the karaoke machine and that is of course also worth something. So I’m still single and ready to mingleYordi responds confidently. He’s never had a relationship, but that shouldn’t spoil the fun. He’s more than ready. “I’m looking for a naughty lady who likes a party,” he explains.

And because that didn’t work out the first time, he just participates again. “I’ve already placed my call.”
