Horses, cowboy hats and revolvers have rarely captivated as many viewers to the television as the hit series “Yellowstone”. Anyone who is tired of looking for the episodes on various streaming services in Germany is in luck: the complete DVD box was released by Paramount Home Entertainment on November 20th – and ROLLING STONE is giving away four boxes to lucky winners.
In the family drama, which is beautifully embedded in the Wild West of America, Kevin Costner appears in his star role. The actor, who already likes to throw on cowboy boots and get on a horse, shapes director Taylor Sheridan’s five-season series. The series was a huge success in the USA: a total of 12.1 million people saw the first episode of the fifth season on television there in 2022 – only the Superbowl and the NFL were stronger. The neo-Western has been shown in Germany since 2024. The final episodes of the fifth season were only released in Germany on Paramount on November 12, 2025.
That’s what it’s about
The series revolves around the dysfunctional Dutton family, who run a ranch the size of Berlin-Kreuzberg in the Yellowstone National Park area – and are willing to do anything to keep it for the dynasty. John Dutton, played by Costner, is the difficult and charismatic patriarch of the family. Like most of his four children, he will go to great lengths to save the family legacy, which is littered with cattle and horses.

The series does not leave out any theme from a classic western narrative: the viewer encounters oil tycoons as well as indigenous people, environmentalists as well as greedy businessmen. In the middle: the overwhelming beauty of Yellowstone and the charisma of the Duttons, who are at odds with each other and with the world.

Since November 20th, the western saga, which is primarily popular among conservative Americans in the United States, has been available on DVD as a complete series. The series, which is suitable for ages 16 and up, can be heard on 24 DVDs and over 3,102 minutes of play in German, English or French with Dolby Digital sound.
