Yellow-blue bouquets for Ukraine: “My employees are no longer happy”

Flower nursery Van Haaster in Vijfhuizen has started a campaign for Giro555. Hundreds of yellow-blue bouquets will be auctioned tomorrow at the Aalsmeer auction. The money will be used for crisis aid to Ukraine.

“We notice from our employees, who come from Eastern Europe, that it moves them. They are less cheerful. Their thoughts are with the home front,” says owner Rob van Haaster. That’s why he thinks it’s extra important to help.

Ukrainian Luba

The Ukrainian Luba is also spinning bouquets. She tells NH Nieuws that her mother and son are still in Ukraine. “It’s really hard. My family has to fight against Russia in Ukraine and I have to earn money for them here,” says Luba.

Van Haaster hopes to raise at least a thousand euros with his blue hyacinths and yellow daffodils. “But maybe tomorrow people will offer double that and it will be a lot more,” he says hopefully.
