“I’m very happy for him,” said the long-time CEO of FC Bayern to the German Press Agency. “He lived in Munich above us, we saw each other many times,” said Rummenigge.
Sommer played at FC Bayern from January 2023 to summer, but finally moved to Milan after turbulent months. “At the time, he fled a bit far from our then trainer – the more remarkable how strong and constant he now performs at Inter Milan. This shows its quality, especially in advanced football age,” said Rummenigge.
Rummenigge also has sympathy for the Milanese decades after his time as an inter-professional. “Above all, I hope that the final will continue the high quality of the semi -finals – that may have been the best I have ever seen at this level in the Champions League,” said the 69 -year -old. “I treat it to both teams, but of course INTER wish it a bit more because of my past. It would be nice if Inter should finally present your Tifosi this prestigious trophy after 15 years of waiting.”
