The German 3×3 basketball players got two gold medals on the fourth competition day at World University Games.

Only the wheelchair basketball players won the final against Spain. Then the basketball players followed up and defeated China in the fight for gold.

In synchronized jumping from the 10-meter tower, the German duo Jaden Eikermann/Luis Carlo Avila Sanchez won silver, while Pauline Pfeif from the 10-meter board secured the bronze medal.

3×3 basketball: women get gold twice, men miss bronze

The team with Laura Zolper, Elisa Mevius, Luisa Marie Nufer and Sarah Luise Polleros had defeated Czech Republic in the Bochum Century in the Bochum Century Hall with 21:15. The German basketball players were quickly 1: 4 against the Chinese women in the afternoon. But in a rapid game they managed to turn the game.

Over 8: 6 and 12: 9 and 14:11 Gold was within reach. But China equalized (14:14), and it continued. But in the end the Germans were more accurate and went into the last two minutes with 19:15.

Laura Zolper then succeeded a minute before the end of the decisive basket at 21:15, which ended the game and Germany was able to cheer on the next gold medal of World University Games.

The German wheelchair basketball players in 3×3 also won the gold medal. After the team with Lilly Sellak, Svenja Erni, Catharina Weiss and Lisa Bergenthal confidently beat the USA with 12: 4, Spain was waiting in the final.

Here the Germans had the game under control for a long time. Three minutes before the end, Germany was in front with four points (10: 6). But the Spaniards caught up with a point and made it equalized 40 seconds before the end.

Germany now swam, but almost had the winning point with the siren, but the hand was still on the ball with the signal. The extension was balanced, everything was possible. But in the end the German team prevailed with 12:11.

Lithuania and the Czech Republic too strong for men’s team

The German men missed the bronze medal on Sunday. After the team failed in the semi -finals of 13:21, the Czechs went against the Czechs in the afternoon.

They kept putting the pass routes skillfully, with which Carlo Meyer, Lennart Schulz, Linus Bekame and Vincent Hennen had their problems. The German team only led at 12:11 once, but in the end the Czech team deservedly won with 21:17.

The two Chinese Lu Wei (400.35) and Wang Weiying (387.15) won gold and silver.

Swimming/basketball/taekwondo

There are further decisions in the evening. Supharada Kisskalt fights for German gold in the Taekwondo final in weight class 49 kg against Jingyue MA. The swimming competitions of the day begin from 7 p.m. The German basketball men also play against Finland.
