The German soccer players have achieved solvable tasks for qualifying for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.
National coach Christian Wück’s selection faces Norway, Austria and Slovenia in Group A4 and thus avoided hammerless England.
| Group A1 | Group A2 | Group A3 | Group A4 |
|---|---|---|---|
Sweden | France | Spain | Germany |
Italy | Netherlands | England | Norway |
Denmark | Poland | Iceland | Austria |
Serbia | Ireland | Ukraine | Slovenia |
The European champions will face world champion Spain in Group A3 in the new edition of the European Championship and World Cup finals, and the “Lionesses” will also play against Iceland and Ukraine. This was the result of the draw on Tuesday in Nyon.
Only winning the group will help immediately
Only the four group winners of the A-League qualify directly for the World Cup. Seven more World Cup tickets will be played via playoffs, plus another place via the intercontinental playoffs.
The six group games will take place between March and June 2026. The two rounds of the playoffs will take place in October and November/December.
Nations League final against Spain
Before qualifying for the World Cup, there is one more highlight for the DFB women at the end of the year: the Olympic bronze medalists will contest the Nations League final against world champions Spain.
The first leg will take place on November 28th in Kaiserslautern, the decision will be made on December 2nd in Madrid.
