The German ice hockey women are back on track at the World Cup.

Three days after the 2: 5 start-up against Sweden, there was a 5: 2 (2: 1, 2: 1, 0: 0) victory for the promoted Norway for the team of national coach Jeff Macleod.

Celina Haider, Franziska Feldmeier, Jule Schiefer, Katarina Jobst-Smith and Lilli Welcke scored the goals for Germany in the Czech Budweis. Mathea Fischer and Andrea Dalen were successful for Norway.

German team plays a little too complicated

The German team came into play well, but had some problems with the exploitation of opportunities. “Sometimes we make it a little too complicated”, Said goal scorer Feldmeier after the first third.

The selection of the German Ice Hockey Association (DEB) also remained too passive in the middle section. In the cards, the team played that Jobst-Smith’s goal fell to 4: 2 16 seconds before the third break. Welcke scored the 5: 1 when Norway took the goalkeeper off the ice in the final phase.

With three points, Germany is in third place in Group B. This placement would be enough according to the World Cup mode to reach the quarter-finals. This goal would almost be achieved with a success over the still winless Hungarians on Monday (11:00 a.m.).
