The ski jumpers’ Japan tour ends with a cancellation. The second singles in Yamagata on Sunday (January 21, 2024) could not take place due to weather conditions.

Women’s ski jumping in Yamagata, Japan has literally fallen through. Heavy rain and strong winds initially made it impossible to start on time. “It’s raining really hard” said Katharina Schmid.

The start was postponed, but the expected weather window did not materialize. The competition was ultimately canceled.

The DSV jumpers had hoped for a bit of compensation after two weak days on the Zao ski jump. In the individual on Friday, Selina Freitag was the best German in twelfth place, Schmid, Luisa Görlich and Juliane Seyfarth were at the very end of the field. In the super team, Freitag and Seyfarth only managed seventh place.
