Qatar have boosted their self-confidence in preparation for the World Cup on home soil (November 20th to December 18th).
During the training camp in Marbella, Spain, coach Felix Sanchez’s team beat Albania 1-0 (1-0).
Goalscorer and captain Almoez Ali, a native of Sudan, scored from the spot in the 38th minute. In the 18th friendly of the year, Qatar emerged victorious for the eighth time.
Things will get serious for the Asian champions, who are making their debut at a World Cup, in the opening game against Ecuador on November 20th. Qatar’s other opponents in Group A are Senegal and the Netherlands.
