The Eintracht Frankfurt women got off to a weak start against Eindhoven, but in the end they easily reached the quarter-finals of the European Cup. A team from Denmark is waiting there.

Off to the quarterfinals! The Eintracht Frankfurt Women also won the second leg against PSV Eindhoven in the European Cup and thus confidently secured their ticket to the round of the last eight. He won 1-0 and 4-0 against NS Mura from Slovenia.

Against Eindhoven, the clearly favored Eintracht had their problems in the early stages in front of 2,568 fans in the Brentanobad stadium. PSV put the hosts under pressure early on, created chances and deservedly took the lead through Liz Rijsbergen after a quarter of an hour. Guest attacker Lore Jacobs even missed the chance to make it 2-0 (17th).

But then the Hessians reacted in a ripped-off manner. The in-form national striker Nicole Anyomi scored Eintracht’s first real chance to equalize (20th). As a result, the Frankfurt women also gained the upper hand in play. Shortly before the break, Laura Freigang converted a flat cross to give the team a fair lead at the break (45′). After the break, the Frankfurt team had everything under control, Anyomi finally decided the duel with her second goal (77th).

The quarterfinals against Nordsjælland will take place next year. The Hessians only have home advantage on February 11th or 12th, and on February 18th/19th. The decision about who will move into the top four will be made in Denmark in February.
