Bayern had big plans before kick-off. But too often Barcelona were invited to a wild defensive performance. In the end it became dramatic.
FC Bayern missed out on a place in the final of the Women’s Champions League. The German champions lost to FC Barcelona in the semi-final second leg 2:4 (1:2). The first leg in Munich ended 1-1. The selection of Bayern coach José Barcala, who was only able to watch from the stands due to a red card, made things even more exciting in the final phase. However, the star-studded team from Barcelona remains one size too big and will face Olympique Lyon in the final.
Salma Paralluelo (13th minute), Alexia Putellas (22nd/58th) and Ewa Pajor (55th) scored for Barcelona, which made it to the final of the premier class for the sixth time in a row. Bayern had already suffered a heavy defeat (1:7) at Barça in the league phase. The already established champions and cup finalists from Munich have once again missed their first European Cup final. For the third time the final stop was in the semi-finals. The goals from Linda Dallmann (17th) and Pernille Harder (71st) were not enough. Another goal from Harder did not count after VAR intervention (90th).
