Two young men, probably teenagers, tried to rob a cafeteria on Bredalaan in Eindhoven at the end of August. The TV program Opsporing Verzocht shows how the owner manages to chase the men away, without loot, with a ladle filled with frying fat.
The woman has been running the snack bar with her husband for more than 25 years. On Saturday evening, August 30, she was cleaning after the hustle and bustle around ten past ten when the perpetrators entered. While one of them pulled out a large knife and threatened the owner, the other started messing around at the cash register.

The then 54-year-old owner had a ladle in her hand at the time and on an impulse scooped glowing fat from the fryer. Her screams and the threat of the hot fat were enough to send the robbers fleeing. The men ran away without loot in the direction of Zeelsterstraat.
The police are asking people who know who the men are, and people who have camera images from the area that may show the perpetrators, to come forward.
The robbers are said to have a light or slightly tanned skin color. They wore dark sportswear, bright blue plastic gloves, New Balance sneakers and a multi-colored Shiro motorcycle helmet. The police share the camera images and explicitly call for tips.
