Woman (53) not punished for stabbing an aggressive neighbor in Annen with a knife

A 53-year-old woman will not be sentenced for stabbing her then neighbor in Annen several times with a knife. Two weeks ago, the Public Prosecution Service had demanded a two-year prison sentence against her for attempted manslaughter.

But the court ruled on Thursday that the woman is not punishable because she acted out of blind panic and intense fear of the aggressive neighbor. For more than 15 years, the family had a conflict with him. There was enormous nuisance, but also threats from his side.

The family and other neighbors have complained dozens of times to the police and the municipality. Following the reports, the police and the mayor have tried to mediate. But that didn’t help the neighbor.

On July 6 last year things went completely wrong for the woman’s house in Annen. Her neighbor was drunk cursing outside when her son tried to come in through the garage door. The mother, who had grabbed a knife, was convinced that her child had been attacked by the man. She shouted: ‘Buck it up’ to the neighbor. She walked away at that moment, but turned back after her words. He walked up to the woman and punched her in the neck.

Couldn’t get out

“And then she faces a much stronger and bigger man, who attacks her,” said the judge. “She couldn’t move in the cramped carport in front of the house.” She stabs the man at least three times in the upper body. According to the judge, stabbing with the knife goes too far, but it is not charged to her because of her state of mind. She has been released from all charges.
